The queen-size bed is made of pine wood (it is the last plant able to live on the highest mountain), traced to the 17th century Camuno (the Val Camonica is a Brescia valley that climbs towards the glaciers, famous for the Paleolithic rock inscriptions). It was built without any use of metal nails. On the headboard small candle burns, remind me of a time when candles were our only means of lighting. The room is furnished by a large toy sleigh, probably of Austrian origin. Next to the bed is a bedside table with a shelf that can be lowered if necessary. It was found in South Tyrol and once used in an old parlor. The wardrobe is a delightful, lacquered 17th century Venetian piece. A stone fireplace completes the look. The bathroom has an essential structure to blend with the imposing furnishings of the room and the window’s sweeping lake view. And the wren? Yes, there is also a wren that, with a bit of irony, is placed on the toilet bowl for its own needs while admiring the view.
